We interviewed Robert Bäckman, terminal manager at DB Schenker in Borås, to hear his thoughts on how SI Logiware will affect their operations.
The aim of the solution for DB Schenker is to improve safety while increasing efficiency and quality when directing the driver to the right gate. Features such as a driver's license scanner, RFID and QR code reader enable fast and secure identification of new and familiar drivers. This facilitates arrival routing based on real-time data and allows for tracking and measuring delivery accuracy.
"We expect the solution to increase our operational efficiency by reducing waiting times and improving the flow of goods and packages. In addition, it will increase the safety of our drivers through better security checks and faster entry and exit," says Robert Bäckman.
“By analyzing measurement data from the system, we will then analyze and optimize our processes and flows. We hope to gain insights into bottlenecks, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost savings. We envision an operation where all arrivals and departures are smooth and without delays.”
“A dream scenario would be full integration with our customers’ systems and reliable AI-driven forecasts that guide how we plan our operations. Personally, I see this project as an opportunity to further modernize our operations and find new, more flexible solutions. It creates great value not only for the terminal but also for our hauliers and customers,” concludes Robert.
