BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) is a British environmental certification system for buildings that assesses their sustainability performance in areas such as energy, water, health and materials.
The system gives buildings a rating scale (from Pass to Outstanding) and a Swedish adaptation, BREEAM-SE, is used to certify buildings in Sweden according to both international and national standards. The goal is to reduce the environmental impact of buildings, improve indoor environments and create increased value for properties.
