Relying on gut instinct is not a sustainable approach at a logistics centre
Imagine the whole family turning up at once for Christmas dinner. Your uncle from Poland, your cousin from England and your brother-in-law from Spain. Nobody knows where to sit, nobody speaks the same language and everyone wants to be served first.
“An YMS solves exactly that problem, but with lorries,” says Daniel Lannemar.
Daniel is the latest addition to our logistics team, where he works on business development and acquiring new customers. We spoke to him about his journey from the warehouse floor, the most common challenges on the farm, and why you won’t want to miss our stand at the trade fair.
From the forklift to business development
Daniel’s journey in logistics began, quite literally, on the shop floor, behind the wheel of a forklift truck at Ericsson in Borås. From there, a career took shape, and Daniel went on to spend 15 years at GEODIS selling sea and air freight solutions.
Today, he helps companies identify opportunities for improvement and create more efficient logistics flows.
– A large part of my job involves understanding our customers’ challenges and demonstrating how our solutions can create real business value.
Everyone knows what’s going to happen except the system
When Daniel meets new clients, he often sees the same pattern. Everyone on site knows exactly what’s going to happen, but the system doesn’t.
– Many people still rely on phones, emails, whiteboards and a bit of gut instinct. It works until it doesn’t – usually just as five lorries arrive at once.
It’s the day Daniel would most like to forget. The lorries are queuing up in the yard, and the warehouse staff are wondering why nobody said anything.
– If we can do away with that day, we’ll have made the world a little better.
For anyone who wants better control over their garden, this is a solution that’s hard to resist.

Business Developer, SI Logistics
From gut feeling to facts
What Daniel appreciates most about SI Logiware is seeing customers move from having a limited overview to having full control over their farm.
– When all data is collected digitally, it becomes easier to monitor KPIs, identify bottlenecks and make decisions based on facts rather than gut feeling.
When the flows come to a halt
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out and trying to get his projects at home in order.
– Which actually bears quite a lot of resemblance to logistics, only with poorer IT support.
Meet Daniel at the trade fair
The trade fair is fast approaching, and Daniel is looking forward to all the meetings and discussions. Most of all, he is looking forward to showcasing our new system, SI Logiware 4.0.
– For anyone who wants better control over their garden, this is a solution that’s hard to resist.
