BACnet, which stands for Building Automation and Control Networks, is an open and internationally standardized communication protocol for building automation.
Instead of just sending raw data, BACnet organizes its functions and information into standardized objects, which represent the devices and their data. Examples of such objects are an analog input such as a temperature sensor or a digital output such as an on/off switch.
